In the jungle where it's hot, Lived a hippo named Peppo, who weighed a lot. He loved to wallow in the mud, And often would play with his friend, a spud. Peppo was big and round and pink, And loved to dance and sing and wink. He had a smile that stretched for miles, And always went the extra miles. One day, Peppo went to town, To see what sights he could be found. He met a monkey swinging by, Who offered him a banana pie. He met a lion with a mane so grand, Who roared and shook Peppo's hand. He met a giraffe who was tall and thin, And they played hide-and-seek 'till the day grew dim. Peppo loved his jungle home, But he loved his friends who liked to roam. He knew that he was loved by all, And that's what made him stand so tall. So if you see Peppo on your way, Be sure to stop and say "Hey!"He'll give you a smile and a wink, And you'll be glad you stopped to think. For Peppo the hippo is a special friend, Whose adventures never seem to end. And when you're feeling down and blue, Just think of Peppo and what he'd do.
